Well there I was up bright and early only after two hours of sleep. I never sleep well before a job interview so I took 3 Tylenol PMs and even though I could barely move I still could not sleep. Somewhere around sunrise I drifted off for a couple of hours, and then prepared.
I was looking snazzy. In my Sunday best. My most clever looks all mapped out, and was even ready to break into a musical number should the need arise. Then about 10 minutes before arriving at what I was sure was going to be my new job I got a call. My friend who recommended me heard from his manager. Apparently the hotel is not doing so well in a financial type way. Not only will they not be hiring any one knew they're also cutting back on every ones hours. My dreams were shattered.
I saw all that free reading time going straight out of the window, and somewhere in the distance a telephone rang. Will it be telemarketing for the rest of my life? The idea sounds like suicide. Maybe I can use my will to work over night shifts, and apply that to another industry. I don't think a lot of people like over night shifts. I guess it just isn't in the cards for me. Hotel work that is. Beaten by the recession.
Here's a 14 year old girl yodeling. Do you like yodeling? I have a bit of an affinity for it. I could have yodeled in the hotel. What else could have been?
